A Book That Takes Its Time
A Book That Takes Its Time by Irene Smit & Astrid van der Hulst
I am currently working my way through this “unhurried adventure in creative mindfulness” and am enjoying it tremendously. Years ago I gifted this book to a family member after flipping through its pages in a local bookstore during a weekend away. It felt like a little piece of home in bound form, the words and illustrations so warm and encouraging. I have gifted it to myself more recently in an effort at loving myself better. I find it slows down my fast world and helps me re-focus on what matters most.
The book is truly an adventure with stories, poems, eye-catching illustrations, activities to follow along, and a variety of keepsakes. The writers broach relatable topics such as noticing beautiful moments, learning to let things go, finding a balance with screen time, exploring the nature that’s around us, and more with a gentle touch.
